Individual support

One-on-one support with a therapist in-person or online is available to process any aspects of one’s internal emotional or external environmental concerns. Therapy is a place to be heard, grow, heal, seek information, find peace of mind, and work towards quality of life.  At the NDC, we provide a variety of appropriate therapies consistent with available international best practices. We always prioritise the unique needs of each client. Importantly, each developmental transition (for example, puberty) brings unique challenges for individuals with ESSENCE needs. Interventions include, among others, social skills development, environmental intervention, cognitive-behavioural therapy, depth therapy, relational therapy, psycho-education, and emotional support.

Family support

An individual diagnosis of a neurodevelopmental condition affects all members of a family in different ways. We aim to help all family members with their respective stressors and roles, including giving practical tips for managing sibling matters and parent/caregiver fatigue or distress. Support might be sought in many aspects of family life, such as emotional regulation, screen time management, sleep struggles, eating difficulties, and processing change.

Neurodevelopmental conditions are largely genetic. Thus, extended family may also appreciate education and support. Educating and including everyone involved in a neurodiverse person’s life is usually a first-line intervention after diagnosis.

Supporting your relationship/couples or dyad therapy

Where characteristics of neurodivergence are identified in one or both partners, new ways of negotiating communication differences, intimacy, and social challenges might be sought. We provide compassionate care for both partners.  Themes of couples therapy often cover, amongst others: The expression of thoughts and emotions, love and support (including alexithymia); managing stress, anxiety, anger, different parenting styles, and differing expectations; and managing social, financial and executive functioning demands in the relationship.

Workplace and occupational support

Workplace strategy coaching aims to help individuals perform at their potential in their working environment. Conversations are encouraged with employers, line managers, other employees or the whole organisation to improve communication, create awareness of neurodiversity, and mediate or make sense of needs, difficulties or misunderstandings.
